This tutorial will show you how to install the 2015-2018 Subaru WRX/STi LED Light Bar (35-952).
Step 1: Remove the front bumper. There are some clips and screws holding the front bumper in place so you will need to remove the clips and screw prior to bumper removal.
OPTIONAL: You can remove the center lower mesh insert if you want. Removing the mesh insert will allow for more light to shine through so it's your prerogative.
Step 2: Let's move to the lower bumper location. There is a factory screw that holds onto the vehicle's frame that you will need to remove. It's located towards the bottom and indicated by the red circle.
Here's a close-up of the screw that was removed.
Step 3: Take the L-shaped metal bracket and mount it back to the same location where you removed the factory screw. Make sure the bracket faces outwards. You'll be using the same screw to secure the bracket onto the WRX's frame. Insert the screw through the back and bolt it in place. Make sure the screw is holding the bracket at the bracket's outer corner; you can use the long groove to the right as an indicator to where the bracket cannot pass. Repeat for the other side.
Step 4: You will notice that the horn is in the way. We are going to readjust the positioning of the horn slightly, in order to accommodate the LED light bar. Loosen the bolt (indicated by red circle) using your fingers and a wrench. If you got ginormous fingers, then you can use pliers instead.
Step 5: Now you can loosen the bolts holding the horn arms to reposition the angle of the horn. The bolts are on pretty tight, so take two wrenches and one side twist clockwise and the other side twice counter clockwise. You just need to loosen a bit so that you can re-angle the horn slightly. Then you can reinstall the horn.
Mount the Subaru WRX LED light bar in between the metal mounting brackets. There's 3 holes on the mounting bracket you can use if you want your LED light bar to stick out more or sit further into the car. Secure with screws, bolts, and washers.
Step 7: Install the relay wiring harness. Draw the wires up to the engine bay and check out this video on how to connect the relay wiring harness:
Step 8: Once the LED light bar is wired up, you can put the bumper back. Make sure you have used all the screws and clips you removed in the beginning. You can also choose whether or not you want to install back the lower mesh grille if you want.
